Great for new fans, of course, but even as a fan who has everything, I enjoy it all, too. Dylan songs make a good compilation. --- Another option is to just buy these songs individually from his albums on iTunes, then iTunes will lower the price of the individual albums you've bought songs from, so if you decide to buy the album later, you'll pay less in the end for the albums.

The best way I can think of to communicate Dylan's work is to say that he reaches into your soul and grabs you. If there is any depth about your being, Bob reaches in and touches your essence. Always good to take time to lose yourself in a poet of this magnitude!

Maestro and kevjev need a musical awakening. Maestro–do you know what songwriting is? Have you ever heard good lyrics? Kevjev–can you comprehend the level of emotion and reality that Dylan employs in his vocal performances—it may not be "pretty" singing, but that's not the point. He helped redefine what good singing really is.

I first bought a Bob Dylan album in August 1964 ... close enough to say I've listened to Dylan for 52 years. Back when most people thought he sounded like a hillbilly. Some wrongly thought he was a hippie. Bob Dylan has always beeen and will always be the one and only. No one even comes close to matching him for quanity or quality of song writing. Dylan's voice has changed over the years ... how could it not? It now has that raspy Leon Redbone quality to it. But, when all is said and done, it's really all about the words Dylan writes. If you just listen to his voice, you've missed the boat. Bon Voyage ...

Bob Dylan is without a shadow of a doubt 1 of Rock's greatest performers. His ability to have written some of the very best songs during the'60s and '70s is just a small testimony to what he's done for the World. His work of the past is what got him to super stardom but his work from the last say 10 years has more than kept him there. Dylan in my opinion is right up there with Lennon/McCartney and Wilson/Love.

Just saw in Rolling Stone Magazine ( a awful, ridiculous music publication) that they put Dylan as the #1 songwriter of all time! Think about the absurdity of that? You're telling me this guy has written a better quality of songs than McCartney, and Lennon?? Elton John, Page, Plant, Billy Joel?? I could go on for the next 10 paragraphs with better song writers. Don't get me wrong he's good, but in actual reality (something RS Magazine has never lived in) he shouldn't even be in the top 20!
