Summer Nights, Best of Both Worlds, Get Up…Would have been amazing start to the follow up to 1984 with Dave, I believe these three songs were already in the works to be performed with Dave…The swagger would have been amazing…Throw in what DLR had on Eat’em and Smile and they could have had another crowning achievement album with the original lineup.

My daddy has this song and yesterday he played it for me (August 31) and I love this song also I don’t have it yet but I have to say THIS IS SO AMAZING AND AWESOME how do you do it I mean have such a great voice how do you do it do you sing nonstop or what.
You are such an amazing person and I love your songs but I do have one complaint HOW DO YOU DEAL WITH YOUR HATERS their being mean and it’s like you don’t care.
I love you though your awesome I have an older sister and she has never heard anything as amazing as your song called “Dreams” my whole family loves you so don’t focus on the haters focus on the love you have from your fans LIKE ME AND MY FAMILY. 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😘😘😘😘😘😘😘💟💟💟💟💟💟💟💟💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💞💞💞💞💞💞🎵🎵🎵🎵🎵💓💓💓💓💓💓💓💓🎵💞💞💞💞💞🎵🎵🎵💞💞💓💓💓💓💓💓❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️❤️

5150 blew everyone’s expectations out of the water. I was a teenager in the 80’s and a huge Van Halen fan. I could not have dreamed VH’s first album with a new singer and frontman would be this good. Nobody did. But here it is. The proof is in the music. Undeniable. And an excellent rock album front to back 30-plus years later.
Van Halen + Sammy Hagar = Dream Team

I’ve listened to this album more than any other in my life. This is the greatest 80s rock album of them all. VAN HAGAR!!!
Truly Van Hagar!

The “name” doesn’t just come from the singer change, it come from a sound change as well!! Gone is the rockin’ Van Halen we came to love & in it's place is this pop rock crap!! All Van Hagar albums are garbage!!
Still the Best 30+ years later

5150 is the hidden gem in this album.
The End of Van Halen

Van Halen lost their swagger and personality when David Lee Roth left. From this album on, the band sounded like a Cheerios commercial. Unbelievably lame.
8 songs are classics

The first 8 songs are fantastic. No band today (2019) can do that. Even the final song (Inside) is pretty great. This is Van Galen’s best album - IMO.
Dave left and .......

start of the tragedy known as Van Hagar. The songs aren’t nearly as new and exciting as Roth Van Halen. Plus Hagars voice sounds like someone breathed in a whole balloon of Helium. Sad how far the greats can fall.

Completely underrated, and under appreciated album of the Van Halen catalog. Hagar breathes inspiration and new life into the group. And also deserves a much needed remaster.
Good album

This was good but not the best I think Van Halen 2 was better than this but it still is a good album

This is a good album but, Van Halen is Dave! They should've changed their name. I like both era's and singers but they sound nothing alike and have a different feel. With Dave it was Rock with the attitude with Sammy more polished, more pop. Sammy has more range vocally but, the Dave era suited his voice. I wouldn't want to hear Dave sing Sammy's stuff either. Again I liked both but Van Halen is Dave. Van Hagar is Sammy.

First off, I’m mind blown by Sammy. Before Eddie Van Halen’s death all I knew about Van Halen was barely anything of ‘jump’. I never really knew it and listened more to GnR or Def Leppard (that’s another story). Once I heard about his death on exactly October 6, 2020. I was obviously sad because someone from the 80’s died. I decided at that moment that I was going to listen to Van Halen more often. That started last year after EVH’s death in October. I listened more to the Roth side (1984, Van Halen II, Van Halen I, diver down, and women and children first). I started to side with the Roth side and at that time the only Van Hagar song I heard was ‘top of world’ from the the album ‘for unlawful and carnal knowledge’... I also agreed with Roth fans that he was better than Sammy. I think gradually till about January hey they both aren’t bad. It’s good they have a good relationship with each other (Roth and Hagar). Just like a week or so ago I came upon the 5150 album on a Van Halen station on Pandora. When I heard it I had no words to express what I heard. I was bamboozled and starstruck. Never have I heard such music. I now equally like them both for they are just as good as each other. This album is amazing. It brings me nostalgia when I listen to it even though I wasn’t alive till 2008. My favorites are Love Walks In and Why Can’t This Be Love?. My favorite on this album though is Love walks in. I must say that I am proud of myself as a fellow Van Halen fan. From just really not knowing much about jump to liking both Sammy and David and knowing some stuff about them and Alex, Eddie , and Michael, was a journey for me. Contact is all it takes

Also I sometimes feel that I like Van Hagar more ,and at times I feel like I like Van Roth better
Awesome!!!

Forget David Lee Roth, he sucked! With all him being lost onstage, and forgetting the lyrics. Say Hagar rocks!! His voice is freakin amazing!! 👩🎤 🤘
Hagar was a bad choice

DLR was the perfect compliment to EVH. Hagar’s sappy lyrics are below the level of Ed’s musicianship.
