I was excited about this collection being remastered but the sound just isn't amplified enough. It's incredable how you notice the difference between the Collection II and Best of Both Worlds. I'll just keep with the songs from Best of Both Worlds in my playlists.

Some of you -- as usual -- have no clue what you're talking about. It sounds "low" because, for once, "remastering" isn't overcompressing the levels and crushing them. That is NOT what remastering is.
But some of you keep proving your ignorance.
Disappointed!

I've been waiting a long time for this remastered collection, so I was very excited when this was released. I'll get right to the point. The first two CDs 5150 and OU812 have a slight volume increase from the original but nothing to get excited about. F.U.C.K CD I really didn't hear much improvement. Balance was the worst of the set. My original copy sounds twice as loud compared to this version. It seems like Balance was mastered to the volume of the original two CDs taking it back a notch.
Every song by the best Van Halen in one place

If you don’t already own every Sammy-era Van Halen album, you’ll do well to get Van Halen “The Collection II.” Every studio track from the best iteration of Van Halen in one epic download.

This is not by any range Eddie’s best playing I’d much prefer the in fighting of the Roth ERA as it pushed Eddie to write great Riffs and songs
This is equivalent to Limp Biskit

… that they also release those rare remix songs like Dreams (extended version), Why Can’t This Be Love (extended version), Right Now (single mix and edit versions), Top of the World (karaoke version), etc.
All the songs listed in the Studio Rarities section (except Crossing Over) have been available in iTunes for years so they shouldn't be labelled as rare.
How about a Previously Unreleased section for Live Without A Net?
Few extra..disappointed in the remaster

I bought this collection for the remastered versions of 5150 and OU812. The might be a little better than what was available on digital before but not much. The rest of the albums always sounded good to me.
If you already have all the albums this is just not worth it. If you are getting them for the first time this is a nice way to do it.
The rarities albums gets you the hard to find crossing over, the Twister songs and the best of extras you could have bought before.
Overall I feel a bit oversold on a mediocre remaster that could have been such a great thing. Maybe the physical product sounds better I am not sure.

Sounds amazing. Some remasters sound bad, not these.

This shows the genius that Ed was. Doesn’t matter the singer, (I think Sammy’s voice is far superior to Dave’s, BUT Dave was an awesome frontman) or the style of music that was “in” at the time. He could write and play anything, for any time. Apparently the genes run to Wolfie. Talented “kid”
Bit disappointed

The sound was not what I hoped for. Other than the bass it doesn’t sound better.

I was around with both versions of the band and liked them both but while Mr. Roth was more of an entertainer he was still a brilliant lyricist and a creative genius, his downfall was organized chaos. Now my thoughts on Sam, in my opinion he’s one of the best front men ever and like Ronnie James Dio he was successful in three bands starting with Montrose, a solo artist and the mighty Van Halen. What he brought to the mighty Van Halen was stability, discipline and ran a tight ship and whether you like it or not he was the “BOSS” of the band. Anyhow I’m so glad that Sammy Hagar and Michael Anthony put this package together and sold it to us at a rock bottom price of $29.99. That’s a lots of good music for under 30 bucks..

Can’t wait for this. In my opinion some of Van Halen’s greatest work. Still love the Dave stuff, but Sammy was better. Kinda weird it’s release date is the same day Eddie died. RIP!
CAN NOT WAIT

The second iteration of the mighty Van Halen, a version of the band that was never quite taken as serious as the former is finally getting some attention, and well deserved respect after all these years. Though I would’ve preferred to hear a song from the OU812 remaster as opposed to the already polished single “humans being” I am impressed by how thick it sounds with the bass more prevalent. A definite and exciting improvement for things to come.
Finally!!🤘🏻🤘🏻

I know we were all looking for a remixed version of OU812 with the bass brought up in the mix, but I’m just as happy with the fact that 5150 and OU812 can be heard now without having to turn the volume up to 11! These remastered versions (done by the incomparable Don Landee) should sound fantastic. Humans Being already sounds to have better clarity than the original when listened to through a great set of earphones. Thanks to the VH Camp for finally doing this for us Sammy fans. VH Forever!!🤘🏻🤘🏻
