First of all most people that go to a Rush expect perfection and guess what...It usually happens. The Snakes and Ladders Tour was bigger in scope and in audience than the R30 Concerts. Xavier Thomas as an example knows nothing about this group, stick to your lip-syncing boy bands, dude. They probably get your heart pumping.

Great sound quality! Best ever in any Rush live album. Geddy's voice is dead-on on this one, best it's been in years. Sounds like all of the songs should! Perfect for any diehard Rush fan like myself! :)

This is certainly Rush's best live album ever. Geddy's voice sounds better now than it ever has. The fact that he had to pull back on his higher vocals adds new depth to the songs. Now, I'm only in my mid-teens, and even I know that anyone would be hard pressed to find a band that sounds as good live as Rush. I dare say it might be impossible.

Incredible live album and live show. The new music hits you in the chest, yet won't let your mind stop thinking. Rush is one of the very few bands originating in the 70's and gaining popularity through the 80's, that is producing strong, energetic, and creative music. I so thankful they still work hard to avoid becoming a strickly golden oldies band. Nothing sadder. Besides, Rush's oldies are better than everyone else's.

Before I heard this I hated live albums. Once I heard this and saw the new songs and the greatest of rush history on it it changed how I feel about live albums. Go Rush!

This is a good concert, but in my opinion, Rush is goin a little crazy with the live albums. I can understand Rush in Rio, cause that was their comeback tour, and R30, as that's their 30th anniversary, but this album I don't believe was needed. Buy only if you're a die hard Rush fan.

I got to see Rush twice on the Snakes and Arrows tour. July of '07, and June of '08. This CD is the basically same show I saw on the first leg of the tour. They actually sent me the CD as a gift for buying tickets to the second leg.
This show concentrates on Snakes and Arrows, which itself is a great album. Rush almost always sounds better live than in the studio, this CD is no exception. I like the Snakes and Arrows stuff a lot better here than the studio version.
There are a few surprises here. They brought back Digital Man, Circumstances, Entre Nous, and Witch Hunt. All of them sound great. As well as the old standards, like Freewill, Limelight, YYZ, and Passage to Bangkok. Subdivisions is their best-yet performance of that song. I liked Stewart Copeland's comment about all of the available versions of Tom Sawyer; Neil's solo on this song was the best yet.
Neil's drum solo (following the Snakes and Arrows instrumental, "Malignant Narcissism") is very different from previous solos. He is still one of the best drummers around.
In fact, Geddy Lee is still one of the best bassists, and Alex Lifeson is one of the best guitarists. These guys have, in many ways, gotten better over the years.
Sound-wise it is fantastic, a true testament to the advances in live audio recording and mixing.
This album is a must-have for longtime Rush fans, but also created some new ones, notably my 13 year-old son. We took him and his buddy to the concert, now this album is always on his iPod.
Undoubtedly the best band of all time!

I'm 14 years old and I was lucky enough to go to both the 2007 & 2008 Snakes and Arrows concert, and man what a concert! They may be an older band but, there's just no band out there that can rival RUSH's amazing sound. Modern bands just seem to lack some of the quality that RUSH has. Absolutely amazing guitar, drums, bass, lyrics.....what more could you ask for from a band!
Repeated listening just keeps getting better!

I own practically their entire library, yet I keep coming back to this compilation. Repeated listenings reveal new surprises and nuances. If I owned the vinyl version of this CD, I would have worn down several needles and worn the grooves out of the vinyl! :-) Neil, Alex and Geddy have a musicianship that is still tight, even after all these years and the gap where they didn't record and/or tour. It continues to blow me away. Having the good fortune to see this show live just makes listening all the sweeter. I am looking forward to their next new CD, although I cannot see how this one can be topped. Keep on rocking, RUSH! Thanks for the great music!
The Test of Time

What does it take for something to become classic? In my opinion has to stand the test of time. Amidst all the fads and flash in the pan one hit wonders, RUSH has maintained it's itegrity and focus time and time again. Just cracked open the BluRay supporting this album and at the cost of sounding redundant all I can say is "EPIC". How amazing that these three guys can attain this level of performance while making it look like a walk in the park. The sound, the HD cameras, and the look and feel of the concert experience are simply...well you know.
The 'all good things' axiom is a bittersweet reminder of father time; but by the look of things I'd say our friends from YYZ will be enlightening us for several more years. As long as they're having fun, I'm coming along for the ride.. 'Entre Nous'
