It's really not that big of a deal anymore, but the kid on the cover is flipping us all off. Sure, it could be accident. Yet I think this is a reflection of what the American society has become, full of apathetic citizens who's oblivious to the world. Or how nobody cares anymore.

This album.... it invokes so many emotions in me. Happiness, sadness... excitement... it's absolutely incredible! It's like I've been listening to these songs my whole life, since childhood! This came out a year ago and I'm already feeling nostalgic. Some people say that Passion Pit has lost its touch, but I highly disagree. I think the brilliant lyrics and meanings are still there. For example, I bet a lot of you didn't catch this, but at the beginning of Ten Feet Tall, you can hear a movie reel being played, which is a pointer to how he feels like his whole life and his experiences have been sold to an audience, like a movie. The songs, while upbeat in nature, actually tell a tragic story of how he's sorry to his wife for selling his story to people, and how he just wants to be alone with her. And now with the recent news, it makes it all the more sad that he just can't force himself to be with his wife.

It's been so long since I listened to Passion Pit only to discover they have a whole new album I never heard! It's great! I've been dancing to it for hours! So much fun, great for just letting out some stress!

Different from their previous albums, yet still very genuine and just Passion Pit. Better than anything I could have expected. Having heard and loved the entirety of their last album, Gossamer, I saw the picture of a boy as an album cover at a store and was drawn to it. Realizing it was by Passion Pit, I had to take it home with me. If you like any of their previous music, it's definitely worth a listen.

Sometimes you don't have to go away from what made you a great band.. I don't recognize them anymore and it's not for the better.. If your a true passion pit fan and love this album it's just blind love.. I love them but I'm not gonna lie I can't listen to this..

I see a lot of people with the same opinion as me: We love Passion Pit but not the sound of this album. To be honest, I really love Lifted Up (1985), but I wish I could say the same for the rest of the album. It just doesn’t have that classic, and unique, Passion Pit sound. Hopefully they will bring it back for the next album! There is still hope!

The art is all dead. I’m listening to an airplane fly overhead, a bird chipped, most interesting things I’ve heard today honestly.
  • Passion pit is electrifying

Not many bands have great consecutive albums. This is not the case for Passion pit, for they continue to electrify the world with each new album. Kindred is captivating from start to finish.
  • Not quite Manners, but not at all bad.

With their third album, Michael and the crew have tried going for a more mainstream, lullaby feel on most of these songs. "Lifted Up" and "Until We Can't" definitely feel as though they fall in mainstream, while "Looks Like Rain" and "Where the Sky Hangs" are very slow and low-keyed. Personally, I still believe that the electrifying feel from Manners is still long gone, but I also think that this album exceeds Gossamer. Many people have opinions and this is mine, so please don't be offended if you have a different say. Honestly, it's not that this album is bad at all, it's just that Manners outshines this one tenfold. If you're new to Passion Pit, please listen Manners first, then listen to these songs and you'll understand. Overall, it's still a solid buy if you REALLY want your Passion Pit feel without YouTube or the Internet.

Honestly, this is probably my least favorite Passion Pit Album. My favorite was Manners, which had an experimental feel to it. I was hoping for more sleepyhead-esque songs. Although, the album overall was good, nothing really stood out.
  • Loving it!

Passion Pit is back with a new album and I like it a lot better than their last one, Gossamer. "Lifted Up (1985)" really takes me back and most of the other tracks took a few listens. However, the last track "Ten Feet Tall" could have done without those explicit lyrics. I also like "Whole Life Story", "Where The Sky Hangs", "Until We Can't" and "My Brother Taught Me How To Swim". I purchased the entire album because I was that confident it would be pretty good. Buy this album. You won't be disappointed.

i don't know..gossamer had astounding choruses to dance along to, while still maintaining that passion pit authenticity. the sounds on this record kindred are killer, but not many opportunities to dance along to. only exception might be until we can't (let's go). that 1985 song is a bit cheesy at the chorus. hoping their future work is a bit more structured.
