A transformational album for The Warning

With this 5th album, the 3 sisters from Monterrey demonstrate an ever evolving sound and maturity in their song writing. Like a Rock music therapy session, the album explores the sometimes negative aspects of growing fame and popularity, and its impact on mental health, relationships, etc. In their typical genre-blending, genre-bending style the band fuses elements of rock, metal, punk, alternative and pop into hard-hitting bangers with their ever present catchy hooks and singable choruses. The title track (Everything’s Falling) sounds like both the title and theme song for a James Bond movie, and features soaring vocals by Dany, proving she is in the same league as Amy Lee, Haley Williams or Lzzy Hale. Fans will be a bit disappointed there aren’t any Pau lead vocal songs, but she has leveled up her drumming with more snare work and complex rhythms, plus there are a few of those screams we love. And Ale, who’s bass skills have sometimes been underestimated by the uninitiated, gets to show doubters what she is capable of on a few songs, particularly the Muse Hysteria-inspired bass line in Bloodsport.
As usual, every track sounds a bit different in style, but not a bad or skippable song on the album.
