The list of lousy hardcore bands who make a go at finding some nexus with metal is long and tedious. However, Hatebreed went bullseye on this pulverizing 7 inch. It manages to combine that one of a kind underground punk sneer with an undeniably death metal avalanche and tribal hardcore mosh enthusiasm. Probabaly my favorite 7 inch record, and I own a ton. That said, I never really liked any of the records Hatebreed put out subsequent to this, save for Satisfacation is the Death Of Desire.

This sounds like a bootleg or something. Don't waste your money on this garbage, stick with Perseverance and after Hatebreed.

This album just has the vibe of being bought out of the back of a van after a killer show in a cramped, sweaty club on the wrong side of the tracks. Real music, music recorded in some dudes basement because they can't afford studio time. Music with passion, soul, and most importent of all, BALLS!!! If you like mainstream metal, this is not what you are looking for.

WELL EVERYONE IS ENTITLED TO THEIR OPINION. I AM A HUGE HUGE HUGE HATEBREED FAN, AND ILL EVEN ADMIT, THIS ALBUM IS PRETTY MUCH TERRIBLE AS FAR AS SOUND QUALITY AND WHERE THEY ARE NOW. BUT THATS THE BEAUTY OF WATCHING A BAND GROW AND EVOLVE, BUT THESE PEOPLE ARE RIGHT, YOU HAVE TO GIVE HATEBREED CREDIT FOR BEING ON OF THE BANDS THAT BROKE TRASH METAL, HARDCORE SCREAMO WHATEVER YOU WANNA CALL IT, OUT OF THE UNDERGROUND SCENE AND MORE MAINSTREAM. BUT THEIR NEWER ALBUMS ARE NOTHING SHORT OF AMAZING. TRUE, THEY ARE NOT A VERY TECHNICAL BAND MUSICALLY, BUT ANYONE WHO HAS ACTUALLY LISTENED TO THEIR MUSIC CAN TELL YOU, THAT ITS ALL ABOUT THE LYRICS. THERE ARE PEOPLE (MYSELF INCLUDED) THAT WILL TELL YOU THAT JAYME'S LYRICS ARE VERY INSPIRATIONAL. THATS WHY I LIKE HATEBREED SO MUCH, THEY HAVE A VERY POSITIVE MESSAGE. AND FOR THOSE LAST FEW BEFORE MINE, YOU GUYS ARE PU**IES. GO BACK TO YOUR FALL OUT BOY ALBUMS. AFTER ALL, THEY ARE THE SH*T RIGHT??!!!

Hatebreed helped bridge the gap between Slayer and Youth of Today......This is the best thing they have ever done....plain and simple. And seeing them with 20 of your closest friends before anyone knew about them was even better.

People can bash bands all day long. Music is about personal taste. If you don't like it then don't listen to it or promote them. I personally can't stand rap or r&b, but I don't make posts bashing people for listening to it or insult someones maturity level. I think that is more immature than the type of music someone listens to. I personally like hatebreed as well as many other bands that "yell and scream and sound angry." If you don't like it then don't express your opinion. Isn't that why you can sample music before you buy it? If you don't like what you hear then move on.

Someone earlier wrote that you should "judge based on talent, not taste". If that's the case, then nobody would listen to Hatebreed. I've listened to this band for over 10 years, and they've NEVER been talented. These songs require absolutely no talent to play. Every song is the same, the same formula: some JUD JUD's, Jamie saying HA or OH in each one, and a blast beat in there too. But I love 'em. They are a classic hardcore band that helped break the metal scene into the mainstream that it is now. Without bands like Hatebreed, Earth Crisis, and Converge, there would be no As I Lay Dying or Killswitch. Hatebreed rocks, and these are some of their earliest recordings. Know your roots, baby.

Yes, the quality on this cd is horrible. But, this is without a doubt the best Hatebreed has produced. If you've ever had the pleasure to hear them sing a song from this cd at one of their shows...you'll know what I mean.

this is the very first album they put out, its from the late 90's and its CLASSIC HARDCORE, the reason to listin to bands like this but especially with hatebreed is to hear the screaming, and 3 different riffs through the entire song. This album being the first one they put out has bad recording quality, just as all bands did cause they dont want to put alot into the recording money wise just incase they dont do well. The other albums are great sound quality but this one is classic and i personally appericate the bad recording quality and im sure there are many others that do to.

There would be only one reason not to enjoy this album, that is if you are over 40 or a fan of emo. Hatbreed is a monster in the true metal scene and this album proves it. Give it up to the Jamie and friends to making another great ablum.

Seriously...if you listen to this band's latest album...you're not getting a change from the first ones. hatebreed, with their lyrical screaming and endless chugging guitars and thrashing double bass, really hasn't come up with any new musical material. If you love someone screaming in your ears for about 45 minutes, then by all means PICK THIS UP!! But, if you are looking for good music that has at least a melody, then Hatebreed will breed the suckiness inside of you. I liked their second album, but after the second time of listening to the same constant sound...i realized that they are only good for teen angst teenagers or really immature adults. If you are depressed and looking for someone to scream for you, then Hatebreed does it. Still...I would not recommend this album even to the die hard metal heads who will be deaf in two years. Buy a Killswitch Engage C.D. instead.

whoever backs this must be ready to lose whatever they invested cause if you listen to all these bands hatebreed, ill nino, piising razors.........it all sucks. if someone was to spin a disc of these cats and change them periodically, I wouldn't evern be able to tell who the hell is what and what song started or ended. Don't quit your day job guys.
