It always amazes me that people can be so finicky and critical when a band changes with the times. Get over yourselves. It takes creativity and a willingness to put yourself out there to be able to spread your wings and move forward to progress and keep current. If you don’t like the new sound, by all means, go listen to the old stuff. Or maybe put out your own music.

Always amazes me when the critics come out. Would love to see each of them try to write a song that someone would listen to.
Have a little fun and appreciate the song for what it is. Fun!
Coldplay doesn’t have to sit in a box and only write the same music over and over. What makes them special is the diversity and passion.

I love this song! It’s definitely a familiar vibe to the Head Full of Dreams album. I think people are upset that Coldplay is and always has been evolving (which is what any good band does). If they never evolved their sound, everyone would complain that it all sounds the same and to do something else. Plus they tend to alternate between more moody albums and upbeat albums.

This album of this song is so good. I don’t understand the negative reviews, they expect Coldplay to be like what they were back then, but if you notice anything about their latest album Adventure Of A Lifetime, you’ll know why Coldplay release this song. Something different with them, I like it, it’s a good song.

I really love this band but the teen pop sound is killing me. Chris Martin is a genius and te band have such a great sound but not when produced this way. Depth, lyrics, layers of sound, and unique melodies: Clocks, The Scientist, In My Place, Viva la Vida, O, Always in My Head, most of Everyday Life. If the band could just return to adult music... from their own lyrics "Let's go back to the start"

I never listen to their music until this song. Well I have but didn’t know it was their songs. This one does give you an up lifting kinda mood and all the feel goods, so definitely LOVE IT! I will be buying more from them from now on!

I generally enjoy this song.
Maybe I didn't get the vibe initially but I can appreciate it now. However, the same problem as the last album songs like Orphan appears. This kind of industrial pop is meant to be catchy. But unlike songs in Mylo Xyloto, A Head Full of Dreams, or even Something Just Like This, this song is not so memorable. I won't find myself lost in the melody when I'm not listening to it.
On the other hand, This piece is not as deep as the songs in X&Y or Viva La Visa. The lyrics are uplifting tbh but I feel that Up&Up did a better job. For this electronic band genre, I will more likely buy The 1975's music. I understand they are trying to bring up something different but they've lost something makes them Coldplay at the same time. This makes me genuinely worry about their next album.

I go way back with this band and have slowly seen them drift to the mass market pop side after the first four albums... a few good tracks here and there after Viva La Vida and then bubble gum land, OK a few good tracks here and there, BUT then they made me LOVE them all over again with Everyday Life. Seemed like they finally rediscovered the path that made them great.... making music for themselves, with meaning, for the art of it again and not the masses or for the label to make money... then this crapper! I’m hoping not everything on the new album is like this... just may have to stop spending my money on a band I really wanted to support. I’m all for trying things, and a band evolving, but Coldplay is not Radiohead... when they evolve they create new masterpieces... but with CP it feels like they’re selling out the fan base that made them who they are... or were.

These guys made global pop music that made the world sing. Clocks is one of the most famous piano pop instrumentals. This is generic, bland, boring, not catchy. Sounds like a flop from the 80’s that got no radio play. Can’t believe they even released this.
