When people call an album a masterpiece, it’s often an exaggeration—but in this case, Parachutes truly deserves the title. This album is amazing and, in every way, a masterpiece. From the rich instrumentals and acoustic arrangements to the warm, heartfelt, and impactful vocals, everything about it stands out. Before diving into the album, the only songs I knew were Trouble and Yellow. But after giving the entire album a few listens, it quickly became my favorite of all time.

Pitchfork trashed this album. Interesting cuz I regularly miss the significance of certain albums receiving praise by the grand poobahs of music judging. I suppose it's natural for some supposed expert to be jaded when reviewing an album as successful as this one. For me, happily, this album holds such mystery and beauty, listening to it makes me feel as if I'm the only one privy to this grand secret. My ears inform me each song on this record is a precious treasure, each possesses its own kind of joy. It's a masterpiece and it so happens a lot of people discovered that fact.

I’m not so sure. I like this album, but not enough to buy it. I guess I’ve gotten to used to the newer albums: Ghost Stories, Mylo Xloto, and the others. I’d give this a 4 star rating. The guitar tones were not as attracting to me as the piano versions, which is one of the reasons I’m giving this a 4/5. I do find this quite relaxing, especially after a long day, but I think I’m liking the newer albums more. Either way, keep rocking Coldplay!!

Holy crow this album is amazing. It brings me to my feels every time! I remember listening to this album on a daily basis in elementary school. These songs honestly make me feel happier every day, and I thank early Coldplay for that. I still listen to their newer music but not as much as the first ever Coldplay album

I was in college at The University of Wisconsin Milwaukee and frequented a local record store ( a thing of the past) . A clerk who new my proclivity for what I might like in music recommended this album. I f.....ing loved it . Every track!! Itis still my favorite Coldplay LP . Rush of the Blood to My Head is a close second. Their newer stuff is good but nothing compares to Parachutes !! Great song writing which propelled them on to the worldwide spotlight . How can anyone not love the simplicicity and allure of Sparks !!! Yellow remains an encore standout !! Definitely my favoite amoungst their many standout albums,
