I hate it that people DEFEND this guy for making this. I would defend Weird Al if this was a parody, BUT IT'S NOT, it's replacing the lyrics with hurtful INSULTS to the song. Weird Al can't find meaning in music, only humor.

Dear lord people. Learn to take a joke. Not only is Al not being offensive to Nirvana, the band thought it was a great idea. Al contacted Kurt Cobain to ask and he thought the idea was hilarious. Just because a song is parodied, doesn't mean the song is bad. So settle down, watch the video, and enjoy the laughter.

Okay, let me get this straight. I love Nirvana. They're amazing, and so is Smells Like Teen Spirit. And I love Yankovic, and this song is great. Cobain killed himself in1994, 2 year AFTER this was released. I think this video is extremely funny. One of my favorite music videos of all time. I love both songs, and both videos. So shut up and enjoy.

Just because you like Nirvana doesn't mean that you need to hate this song. Besides, what he says is true. In Smells Like Teen Spirit, you can't understand what they are saying. And the title doesn't make sense. What does, "Smells Like Teen Spirit" mean? Maybe they explain it in the song, but you can't understand it. And Weird Al compliments Nirvana in the song. He says, "well we sure beat grazing cattle." lolz

First of all, everyone who gives it one star and says that he should respect the dead should learn that this was made before Kurt Cobain killed himself. Second of all, he's not making fun of bands, he writes parodies. Honestly, every band or singer he's parodied so far has loved his song, except for Coolio with Amish Paradise. Don't give it one star and say the original is better, because this was never supposed to be better than the original. Weird Al is the best at what he does, and just because you don't like HIM doesn't mean you should rate these videos one star.

I hate when people think that this is disrespectful. It's very ignorant to think that because Nirvana agreed to it, so if they didn't want the song parodied, they could have just said no! It's all in good fun anyways, there is no reason why Nirvana fans shouldn't enjoy this song as a funny joke. So stop ruining the joke and just go along with it already. It's funny.
