I love the double triple voice overs in the background . It really makes the music more powerful . I don’t know what people are talking about but I love the direction he is taking his music . I know this is an older album and a newer review . However I love the 90s and the 20s Deangelo . Thank you for sharing your gifts with us . You are truly food to my soul . 💛🙏🏾

He is just a masterful musician. This never gets old….

this sounds like one continuous live jam session with no musical direction, this is his least impressive work nah bruh not feeling it....

After Brown Sugar and Voodoo, I was expecting another album I could play from intro to outro. This album has gems but it's not on the same level as his previous endevors. It's not an awful album by any stretch but it's not the same standard that I'm used to. D'Angelo is and will always remain one of my favorite artist. I'm looking forward to whatever he puts out next. It hurts me to rate it this low but it is what it is. OK.

Hasn’t been nice since his first album!

I love all your music, I feel you take your time to give your music much thought, passion, and perfection. Your creativity is so unique, stylish, and so musically orchestrated with such deep soulful passion that portray some of your life experiences and thoughts that’s real, sometimes very sensual and definitely presented with abstract descriptive meaning and versatility!! Great job on Black Messiah Michael Archer!! Really Love, Another Life, Betray My Heart are my favorites, but I have enjoyed this entire album.

D'Angelo's music is the best!!!

I didn't like it at first. D warned in an interview that it was going to be a little different. I was just glad that D is back. Of course in my house he never went anywhere. It's growing on me. "Another Life" is my favorite song. I like "Sugah Daddy" and "Back to the Future"(Part I) too.

I don't know what happened. I know this song has been out for a while, but I listened to it recently and have fallen in love with the music, melody, voice, lyrics...Oh, I just love it. It's great to hear a romantic song in this era.

If you are going to disappear from the scene after making one of the greatest albums, ever, then the comeback needs to be miraculous. D'Angelo delivers. At $5.99 for this album (Sep 2015) it is the steal of the century. Buy it now and do your ears and soul a favor.

Perfect addition to D's flawless catalogue. Only 3 albums in 20 years, but all are different and advance the art of music as a whole.

Said it was 5 star when released, still holding up 9 months later of heavy play.
