Glad to see he has his voice back after his battle with the throat virus/cancer he had.

I love his cover of this. To me it feels like he's mocking Beyonce. Doesn't it? He sounds so shallow with the repetitive lyrics. Regardless, I love this.

Melody wins it

Song writers will disagree across the board about what makes a great song. But the truth is a great melody is the common thread running through every great song. John Mayer creates a theatrical, sentimental, soundtrack to life kind of vibe on this one and turns an otherwise pointless lyric into something worth getting. Obviously not John Mayer lyrics but definitely John Mayor vibe and melody.
Good cover!

It takes a real singer to sing a good song sometimes. Why doesn’t Beyonce leave the auto tune and studio mixes alone and just sing her songs like John.
Classic john mayer

John is continuously changing his style and music over the course of his career. It’s incredibly refreshing as a fan to fall in love with all his different songs and styles. XO is no different. The classic acoustic strumming in the background, the harmonica. It flows so well. Copycat? This sounds nothing like Queen B’s version; and that is what makes John a one of a kind musician.
Absolutely gorgeous.
