Tracy Chapman is just Amazing!!!! I enjoy all her music and couldn't deny any of it. Ever song has a new topic Tracy tackles and it's just brilliant and great how she describes that topic. Along with the lyrics and her powerful and unique but great voice, there is the music in the background that really pulls the song together. She makes such great music, but in my opinion, they all are so calm and relaxing songs. So if you like that, then deffinately buy this album. It has a great hit on it called "Change." Great Album!!!!

Where has Tracy been? Wherever she has been, 2005 was a great year for her with the release of this little gem. I recommend the following songs in particular: Change, 3,000 miles, Be and Be Not Afraid.

I love this album. It is truely touching! The lyrics of her songs dwell within a deeper level. Her songs have a great way of discussing life lessons. My favorite song on this album is "change", it truely made me think! Anyone who hasn't heard it, needs to.

I was @ Chow, an eatery in San Francisco on 5/15. Tracy sat at the next table. She was eating a gruyere cheese and ham sandwich on toasted sour dough with one over-easy egg fried and placed gently on top... with fries. So I had the same thing. She rocks and so did that sandwich. Oh yeah and this album is tastefully done.
So-so effort, try "New Beginning" or "Tracy Chapman" instead

I heard "Change" on the radio and it made me so excited for this album to come out... When it finally did and I popped it in my cd player, I was disappointed! It doesn't come close to comparing with the brilliance of "New Beginning" or "Tracy Chapman"... If you aren't a hard-core fan, but you heard "Change" and liked it, download that song and "America" and go without the rest. I rarely listen to this one, I find it quite boring. I put one or two songs from it on my ipod every now and then, but I would much rather hear older material.

I've had this album since it was released, and it is always good to hear her. I almost have her discography, with the exception of a few singles and "Matters of the Heart" and "Crossroads"
If I were to say that this is one of Tracy's best albums, it would be an understatement. All her albums are her best albums. She thinks carefully as she writes. Her lyrics are like poems and expressions of what she's encountered on the road called life, I believe. That's one reason she doesn't release an album each year--rather every three or four years. That and she has a life of her own beside music.
Thank you for this album so much. I absolutely marvel Tracy's creativity and her voice just reminds me of a great storyteller, which I love to here in songs--a great story.

I love this cd I stumbled on her first cd when I was digging through my parents cds and I loved it. Every song every lyric it was the kind of music you just don't hear anymore beautiful in every defintion of the word. So, when I saw she had a new cd out I rushed to get it because Tracy Chapman is one of the few artist today whose music uplifts you and makes you wonder what can i do to make the world a better place? I love her music and I have stopped listening to this cd since I bought and you won't either once you do

A beautiful album. "Change" is a stunning song -- a jaw-dropper. Also excellent are "Talk to You," "3,000 Miles," and "America." Four great songs on one album = a GREAT album.

If one enjoys a combination of beauty, thought, and message this album is a must-have. Tracy Chapman's voice again rings with stunning clarity on a number of levels: social, political, spiritual and even awareness of the difference in commenting from an distance and doing something visible to the community at large. The only reason for four stars is that music is a two way road and listening is part of action. The fifth star goes to folks who take her message to heart. Thank you, Tracy, for remiding us again that beauty can grow from ugliness if one works at it. Will we change?
