There’s a lot of hate and finger-pointing going on here, and honestly, it really sucks to see. Why is it that we as Christians tend to crucify our own more than anyone else? The moment one of our own stumbles, or we think someone isn’t practicing their faith the way we believe they should, we’re so quick to judge, criticize, and tear them down. Why do we do this to each other? Who are we to act like the way we practice our faith is the gold standard that everyone else has to live up to? For all we know, Kid Rock’s faith may be more genuine than some people are willing to give him credit for. Maybe he’s simply trying to celebrate his faith and proclaim the name of Jesus Christ the best way he knows how. Yet here we are, with people calling his song garbage and accusing him of chasing money, questioning his intentions and his faith as if they personally know the man. We don’t know his heart. We don’t know his personal walk with Christ. Let me be clear: if you don’t like the song, that’s fine. Give it one star if you want to. Maybe you think it’s cheesy, and that’s OK. Music is subjective, and everyone is entitled to their opinion. But there’s a difference between not liking a song and tearing apart someone’s faith. That’s what bothers me about so many of these reviews. I used to listen to Kid Rock quite heavily back in the 2000s, during a time in my life when I was deep into drugs, alcohol, and other ungodly things. Eventually, I found Christ, and my life changed. That doesn’t mean my walk has been perfect. I’ve stumbled, I’ve struggled, and I’ve had times when I haven’t been where I should be in my faith. But I’ve always continued to proclaim the Gospel and declare that Jesus Christ is King of my life. And even then, I’ve had other Christians point fingers at me, judge me because of my past, and bring up the times I’ve stumbled, as if my past defines who I am today. That’s one of the reasons this bothers me so much. I know what it feels like to be judged by other Christians, the very people you would think would understand grace, forgiveness, and redemption. None of us is perfect. We all fall short. We all have our struggles, and none of us has the right to act like we know what’s in another person’s heart or where they stand with God. And let’s be honest, we don’t get many people with the level of fame and celebrity that Kid Rock has openly proclaiming the name of Jesus Christ. That’s a big platform, and whether you like him or not, he’s using it to put Christ out there. You don’t have to like his music, but why are we so quick to tear him down instead of at least encouraging him to keep proclaiming that Christ is King? At the end of the day, he’s expressing his faith the best way he knows how. Maybe the song isn’t for you. Maybe it sounds cheesy. That’s fine. But to question his faith, assume his motives, and tear him apart over something we really know nothing about is wrong. If we’re truly Christians, shouldn’t we be encouraging one another instead of constantly looking for reasons to tear each other down? Shouldn’t we be praying for one another, lifting each other up, and showing the same grace we hope to receive when we stumble? I’m not saying you have to like the song. I’m saying there’s a difference between criticizing music and judging someone’s relationship with Christ. We should be able to disagree without tearing each other apart. We should be able to recognize that someone is proclaiming Christ without acting like we have the authority to judge their heart. Jesus Christ is King. And if someone with a platform as big as Kid Rock’s is using his voice to proclaim that, then maybe instead of being so quick to crucify one of our own, we should take a step back and remember what grace is all about.

He’s so pathetic that he needs to find the easiest, most susceptible population to listen to his trash. Please make zero stars an option

God has used some of the biggest sinners in history to bring Him glory. From David (murder/adultery) to Moses (murder) to Paul (a persecutor of Christians). Our Kid Rock’s sins or failures to great that God cannot use him? Get out of here with that nonsense. If you think God cannot use Kid Rock…news flash your sins are too many to count as well. Thank God for grace or we’d all be doomed.
  • Praise music Kid Rock style
