After The Storm - EP

Scream and lift me up And heaven help us are the best songs on this album

It’s true, the formula that put them in the spotlight is still here…They went especially commercial for a few albums but the fake screaming/harmonizing bit remains…It isn’t enjoyable for me anymore.

Personally, I wish they would’ve released a full album. The first two songs they released were not my favorite on this album, however the last three songs on the album were so impressive that I have to give the album 5 stars.

This has to be one of their best ones in a while and for the first time ever on my reviews, favorites are all of them not a single skip yes I wish it was a full album, but this is great either way, although not as good as collide, comatose or awake, but still really close to it best one sense victorious a lot better than Dominion or even revolution hope skillet continues this path as well. Also happy 30th anniversary to one of my favorite bands skillet.

This is awesome music by Skillet. I wanna Scream. It’s a great Christian metal ep and I hope they continue to make great Christian metal music for the Lord!

Skillet has outdone themselves with this ep and I’ve been a fan of them since I was 7 years old. The song “After The Storm” has me feeling like I want to run through a brick wall. May God bless the band and may they have many more successful years.

I criticized Skillet’s last album pretty heavily. I ranted and raved about being a fan since 2001, requesting radio stations play their songs and buying all their albums, etc. but their lyrics and messaging had become divisive, political and uninspired. This EP turns the corner and hopefully shuts that political door behind them. A return to the melodies, lyrics and fist-pumping rock that launched Skillet into the mainstream stratosphere. As a longtime Panhead, I would confidently recommend this EP to any Skillet fan. It’s a shame Skillet ostracized some of their fan base over the past few years with their political side projects and messaging, but I’m hoping this is a strong sign of them returning to their hopeful, uniting and all inclusive brand that draw people in regardless of background or beliefs.

Best work from them in years. Just saw them live for the 25th time and they only get better and better. Stoked for this direction back to older routes! 🔥

New Skillet release that absolutely hits, not a single bad song, everything is heavy hard rock that we know old Skillet for.

This is very reminiscent of early Skillet yes but it all just feels formulaic. Generic Christian rock and generic song writing. It’s better than Dominion certainly but it does nothing special or interesting.

Every song is fantastic. I was worried when they released two of the songs prior. Most bands release their best ones and the rest are snooze worthy. Not these. Grave stomper is just face melting. Skillet head all the way.

Maga sheep of a band too. No thanks

Absolutely amazing. Left me speechless the first listen. Grave stomper, and lift me up are definitely my favorite, love all the screaming! Grave stomper gives me like Slipknot vibes tbh which is not a bad thing I love it. Skillet is 100% going in the right direction and this has to be the best release in years. Can’t wait to hear more!

This EP gives me a Collide feeling and I love it so much. I really hope Skillet keeps moving more in this direction! It’s a fantastic EP!

Awesome EP filled with banger after banger.

I’ve been a fan of Skillet for the last 15 years. There is no filler on this lean and mean EP. Plus, it’s heavy!

Love all the songs!! Skillet never disappoints!!! Keep rocking on for God!!

As a fan of almost 20 years and I’ve seen them live 6 times, this is the best Skillet music in a long time. This EP gave me the same feeling I had of listening to Comatose for the first time. I hope they stay heavier. Another HUGE improvement is the production. The last few Skillet albums sounded flat and like they were in a box but this one everything is really clear. Bravo Skillet, well done
