Literally every genre has a wide range of what it is. Indie, punk, pop, folk, you name it. And that means metal is no exception. “Metal-Core” is one of those sub genres that experiments a lot. You don’t have to like it, but for the love of God could you stop whining? Sleep Token is Metal, MIXED with R&B, Rap, and Pop, and some people like it. Don’t be an annoying Metal purist.
Anyway, ok album, Eden was better. Still some fire songs. 4.5.

Honestly, the groan singing is unbearable already, but the music itself is actually a crime against metal, this isn’t prog, hell, I wouldn’t call it R and B! Songs like “Emergence” and “Caramel”, actually sound like the same song, like they recorded in a hallway and added reverb and called it a day, along with Vessel’s groan singing, it all just doesn’t add up to “metal” to me, hey, I don’t like YOUNGBLUD but I’d rather him win than this amalgamation of an album. I love the heavy parts, but it is creative how it can switch up quickly and still flow really well. Guaranteed it was made by aliens because I feel like I’m in a different world when listening to this album and chilling. Let the haters cry that it’s not like something they expect or want it to be. It’s definitely different and good.

Even in Arcadia is the first album that introduced me to ST and I think it’s an absolutely fantastic album, but then again, it’s beautifully weaved violin, piano and mash of different genres is not something everyone loves, that’s a fact everyone has to accept. Great band, great music.
