Was someone waiting for this?

Talk about a one-trick pony.
On the other hand, they were brave enough to drop-kick a lying fascist from the band, so they can't be all bad.

None of the grand crescendos and excitement of their past albums. Saw them at Forest Hills August 9. Horrible venue but they were GREAT! Play Jones Beach next time!

Great bands, artists, songwriters don’t stand still but find away to keep going in order to produce the next chapter. Great set of songs from a very special band!
True sound

Each track is true to M&S sound. Not overly produced as true to their sound on each tracks uniqueness. Love it! We needed this
Pretty good

It didn’t feel like a full return to form like Babel or Sigh, but still pretty great!
Missed this sound from them

I enjoyed this album. It has the same sounds that many fans have loved over the years.

I like the album and the idiots who wrote the one stars are honestly stupid.

This band doesn't even know what it wants to be. I suggest disbanding.
Beautifully Written with Acoustic Production

This album is clearly different from any of their other albums, although there are some similar sounds to babel and delta. Overall, the lyrics shine through and are highlighted by the acoustic leaning production. Some may say the songs are boring, but I disagree. They’re deep, special, emotional, and beautiful. I can’t wait to hear these songs live with thousands of others ♡
Slow and boring

Idk- feels like it fails to have a theme or generate any emotions. Just words to slow tunes, not impressed.
One star reviews

The one star reviews on this thread make me chuckle. Really ignorant is all they are. This is the album M&S should have made to follow up Babel. It is a largely acoustic set with sprinkles of the old sound weaved in. I think it’s strong but does induce sleepiness after track 5 and picks up at end. While I feel like it’s not exactly the album we were shown, I do like it a whole lot. Mumford is back on my radar for sure! Thanks boys!

Such a good album
Sounds like it should have been their third album

I think it’s a solid album. Not my favorite, but better than the last two albums. This is the closest sounding to “Sigh No More” and “Babel” out of all of their albums. Reviewers should learn the bands history before making inaccurate comments and leaving one star reviews because of it. Winston was NOT kicked out of the band, he chose to leave. If you heard or read the aftermath of the events, you would know that Marcus begged him to stay. He said he didn’t care that his beliefs and comments were of different opinions, so he was never forced to leave. So get your facts straight before creating gossip and spreading non-sense.
Amazing

Absolutely love this album, it’s in repeat, such great work, great lyrics and love the variation of style and instruments. Love love love. Ignore the complainers, bands change and develop sound, if they are then they aren’t growing. Love their growth.

Caroline, Truth & Rushmere are the solid stand out tracks. But lyrically the album is good! Just more different than the other albums. Reminds me of delta with a touch of Babel!

This album is a return to their roots with continued lyrical ingenuity.
