This was my favorite album of Kelly's. The music style was true to the era (new millennium) and the lyrics are classic! I feel like this is a feel good album I could pop in and let the whole thing play and really be taken on a musical journey !

The second sound, Dilemma is scratchy during the first 20 seconds. I hope itunes can repair it.

Real soul, with an acoustic feel. I feel her presence when I listen to this song. Great work, and definitely perfect for solo-ing out of Destiny's Child. And she's now cured from Beyonce-itis.

These songs make me feel calm. I know it's 2009, but I love these songs anyway. It doesn't matter what year it is. I LOVE YOU KELLY!!! <3

Kelly Rowland is an extremely talented, beautiful woman who has made history with Destiny's Child and in her solo career. She, Beyonce, and Michelle each had a great deal of success, and this album as well as Ms. Kelly are terrific! The lyrics work with her voice to create a beautiful album. Hope to see more muic videos and albums soon, Kelly! (and possibly a Destiny's Child reunion?)
  • If u don't like a variety of musical skill and sounds this isn't 4 u!!!!

Kelly Rowland is my favorite female singer ever. Most people under rate her cuz she doesn't put out music that is garbage like most R&B no a days, her music will actually speak to you and inspire you and make think about other people and how u treat them. If you strip away the beat and just listen to the words they are really powerful and that what's make a truly great artist (someone who speaks from the heart and who is real with music and who isn't it for the money.) I actually like every song on the album and I think its great but my favorites songs are 3. Haven't told you, 5. Love/Hate, 6. Simply Deep, 8. Obsession, 9. Heaven, 12. Train On a Track, and 13. Beyond Imagination. If your into real music that speaks to your heart and soul, and that will move you to the core of your being then this is the album 4 u. Also try tamia if you like good music.
  • GREAT album - a hidden gem

This is one of my favorite albums of 2002. Kelly did a great job with her debut. Most of the tracks are mellow but upbeat, with a few more mainstream/pop-y tracks thrown in the mix (#1 Stole, #2 Dilemma, and #4 - Can't Nobody). With the exception of the radio hits "Stole" and "Dilemma", most of the album remains unknown to many but is WELL WORTH a complete album purchase. The other tracks are great, and the fact that they weren't overplayed on the radio makes them even better! #3 Haven't Told You is my favorite track on the album, and is by far one of my favorite tracks of all time. I highly recommend spending the 9.99 to buy the complete album. Also, for those who are not a fan of Beyonce's sometimes over-the-top/borderline screaming singing, Kelly has a much calmer, but equally powerful voice. Give it a listen!

This album is breathtaking. "Stole" is an amazing song, but also tells a story, and discusses subject matter pop and R&B musicians rarely take on. "Stole" starts off about a high school reject at an inner-city school and is sung from the point of view of a classmate. The boy in this song is shunned by his peers for being smart, and everyone teases him. Anger moves the troubled youth to bring a gun to school, commit a terrible shooting, and later kill himself. Kelly Rowland isn't preachy: she tells it like it is. She continues to sing of other young women and men who've had their potential robbed from them. I highly recommend the music video for "Stole" as well. It is so moving. Other notable tracks: The acoustic guitar on "Haven't Told You" is great, and the song is beautiful and sensual. The soulful croon of "Simply Deep" makes it a stunner, as well. I also am crazy about "(Love Lies In) Strange Places". The words are absolutely fantastic, and Kelly also cowrote this one. It's lot's of fun, and you're sure to love it. While Simply Deep isn't big on club numbers, it's SMARTER than that. This album is exactely what the title promises it to be.
